Hi, I’m Kristie Christie.
I’m passionate about the relationship between vision and execution, and I love seeing your dreams become reality. Through a creative combination of authentic storytelling, elegant production, empathetic coaching, and strategic experience design, I walk with my clients in a way that feels like “I’m with you” more than “You should go do this.”
Over the last 20 years, I’ve hung out with celebrated people in Malibu and stood with dear people in the smallest homes amid slums in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. My heart wrestles with the many forms of poverty that live in every human heart, and I am committed to being an active part of restoration in this world.
StoryArtist was created to describe the work that was already being done by a thoughtful network of global creatives to illuminate the darkness with hope. We have a proven track record of inspiring audiences with elegant, strategic storytelling and resulting generous giving to catalyze life transformation for those who live in poverty.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Beautiful Downtown Burbank.
I grew up in a town that’s positioned on the backside of the Hollywood sign. In Burbank, California, the creative visionaries who work behind the cameras and lights of the entertainment industry raised me to believe in possibility, vision, and execution. Unlike some of my peers, I didn’t dream of fame—I got lost daydreaming of what a collection of creative people could do to create a moment—a transformational experience.
On the right, I’m 9 years old in the 3rd grade outside Disney Studios. I won an art contest to paint on the construction wall outside of the Dwarf Building with a small group of other students from my school. They gave me two tickets to Disneyland and I truly thought I’d won the lottery!
Poverty Became Personal.
In 2012, I met my husband, David. I had been living in Calabasas and working with families in Malibu. I was showered in love and gifts—9 bridal showers to be exact. At the end of a long day, we sat in the middle of the gifts from one of these parties—-David looked at me and said, “My dad makes $500 USD a year. Do we need all of this?”
How do you sleep at night in perfect Pottery Barn sheets when your father lives in extreme poverty in India?
Our journey to know, love, and give became central to my life journey. We learned about the trustworthy and proven work Compassion International is doing with children in local communities and began giving monthly. From there, I became a spokesperson for them and later an employee traveling worldwide, telling the stories of our brothers and sisters who live in poverty and inviting the resourced world to participate in their life transformation.
David and I traveled to India twice to spend time with his father before he passed away in 2022.
